MACOMB – A revised wind farm ordinance has been sent to the McDonough County Board for approval next week. The updated ordinance had been tabled last month so suggested material from the McDonough County Farm Bureau could be considered for inclusion.
The board’s law and legal committee Monday approved requested expanded reference to the Illinois Agricultural Impact Mitigation Agreement. Expansion was also made to the option of third party interpretation if the designated code administrator needs assistance.
The committee agreed to clarify language regarding financial assurances, and add a timeline for costs of decommissioning wind turbines when necessary.
In other business, the county board committee received a report from Sheriff Nick Petitigout that the average daily jail population in May was 25 prisoners. The sheriff said there were 29 prisoners in the county jail this week.
