A second public hearing has been scheduled regarding a wind farm project proposed for Young County. The Young County Commissioners Court will open the floor for public opinion at 10 a.m. on Thursday, June 10, at the Young County Courthouse.
After seeing an increase of interest from adjacent landowners to the current reinvestment zone, Young Wind LLC, has requested an additional zone, Reinvestment Zone No. 2, to accommodate those landowners. The court approved the first zone after the first public hearing on April 26.
“Since we approved the reinvestment zone, there’s been some adjoining property owners that want to be included in that and they have appealed to Apex,” said Young County Judge John Bullock. “So we’ll have to go back through that process and recreate that zone and expanding it some.”
