Planning permission has been granted to build another multi-million pound wind farm in West Lothian.
The application was approved on Monday February 8 to build the farm on land at Woodmuir Plantation in West Calder.
The new eight-turbine farm will become the tenth to be built in the county since 2007.
West Lothian Council had first granted permission for the new farm in April 2020 but the proposal was amended to extend the maximum height of the blade tips from 180m to 200m.
Energiekontor UK Ltd will construct the formation of the West Calder farm, consisting of eight turbines with maximum height to blade tip of 200m, with associated infrastructure.
A council spokesperson said: “The West Lothian Local Development Plan states that the council supports the development of wind energy schemes in principle.
“Such developments will be supported where it can be satisfactorily demonstrated that proposals will not individually or cumulatively have a significantly adverse impact on local communities, the natural and historic environment, public safety and the economy of the local area.”
The 22-turbine Harburnhead Wind Farm near West Calder can generate clean energy for around 31,000 homes and reduces annual carbon emissions by around 60,000 tonnes.

In 2019, West Lothian Council heard that the wind farms had contributed over £1 million to the local economy.
The other farms in West Lothian are located at Black Law, Cowdenhead, Drumduff, Harburnhead, Nether Longford, Pates Hill, Pearie Law and Tormywheel.
