Clearing for eastern Broome County wind turbines set to begin

The clearing of trees for the Bluestone Wind Farm project is set to begin today in eastern Broome County, according to a news letter released by the company.

The project aims to place several wind turbines in the towns of Windsor and Sanford.

Beginning Feb. 8, Bluestone Wind says it will clear trees for the turbines, roads and collection line corridors along Pazzelli Road in Windsor. They say access to the area will be up Route 41 to Farnham to Pazzelli roads. This work is expected to go through Feb. 28.

On Feb. 15, the company says it will begin clearing trees along William Law and Rector roads in Windsor and access to this area will be up Page Road to William Law Road. This work is expected to go through early March.

On Feb. 19, the company says it will begin clearing along Bryce Road and Route 41 in Windsor. They say access to this area will be from both Bryce Road and Boskett Road. This work is expected to be completed in early March.

Beginning early March to April, the company says it will begin the clearing for all turbines, roads and collection line corridors on the eastern half of the project. The access to these areas will be from Route 41 to Shaver Hill Road and from Route 41 to Loomis Hill Road in the village of Deposit.
