No problems with wind?

Why has the prospect of having offshore oil and natural gas drilling platforms put the Navy’s bellbottoms in a bunch, claiming they would interfere with its training and operations in the vast western Atlantic Ocean, but the establishment of a vast farm of wind turbines there has not seemed to concern it?
Apparently, the Navy’s high tech radars and navigation systems would have no problems safely operating in the vicinity of wind turbines, but not so in the vicinity of oil and natural gas platforms (like it has been doing in the confined space of the Persian Gulf for decades).
Why would the noise and disruption of marine life associated with the construction of natural gas platforms be ecologically unacceptable, but the same noise and marine life disruption associated with the construction of wind turbines not be? And why should we not be concerned with the impact of the turbines on the migratory bird paths?
Sounds like selective handwringing to me.
