The city of Mount Vernon will fall under a wind turbine and solar ordinance whether it wants to or not.
The Mount Vernon City Council rejected the Posey County area plan commission’s original wind turbine ordinance and asked the commission to revise it. But the commission said no.
The council had the option of rejecting the ordinance again without having any no rules for wind turbines and solar farms.
Officials decided against it. This now means the planning for the commission’s ordinance will go into effect in 45 days.
