COLUMBUS – Ohio Power Siting Board Friday suspended the procedural schedule in the case regarding Republic Wind LLC’s proposal to construct an electric transmission line in Seneca County, according to a news release from the agency.

As a result of the suspension, the local public hearing that had been scheduled for Feb. 26 and the adjudicatory hearing that had been set for March 11 are canceled.

OPSB will establish a new hearing schedule at a later date, the release said.

The release said Republic Wind Wednesday filed a motion in the case record to suspend the procedural schedule, stating the company intends modify the proposed transmission line route. As a result, the release said OPSB staff will need additional time to investigate the modified route and publish its staff report.

As currently proposed, the Republic Wind Transmission Line would consist of a 7.2-mile-long 138-kilovolt electric transmission line in Pleasant and Adams townships.

The Republic Wind Farm, pending separately in case number 17-2295-EL-BGN, would consist of up to 47 wind turbines in Adams, Reed, Scipio and Thompson townships and York Township in Sandusky County.

Additional information regarding the proposed transmission line is available on the OPSB website at www.OPSB.ohio.gov in case number 19-1066-EL-BTX.
