People who live in Packer Township are concerned about wind turbines taking over their neighborhood.
A $125 million project was proposed last month.
If it’s approved construction could start by the end of the year, bringing 21 turbines more than 600 feet tall to the area.
Residents said they went door-to-door with a petition in January to stop the project.
“We went around with the petition and that’s when we found out everyone was opposed, besides a handful of people. For whatever reason, from deforestation, to truck traffic, to the lights, to shadow flicker, to health concerns,” said Michele Davis, of Packer Township.
The township supervisors told community members they would have to voice their concerns at a zoning hearing which hasn’t been scheduled yet.
