A wind energy project is proposed for a new part of Carbon County.
On Tuesday night, residents of Packer Township and Nesquehoning got a chance to speak with representatives of Liberty Power at a public open house.
The company has plans to build 21 wind turbines along the Broad Mountain.
Construction is proposed to start at the end of this year. The turbines would be in service by the end of 2020.
The project is expected to create between 100 and 120 jobs in the area.
Liberty Power would not provide a comment on the project to News 13 at the open house.
