An open house into the proposal to build a windmill farm atop the Broad Mountain in Packer Twp. will be held tonight from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at the township municipal building along Route 93.
But a zoning hearing scheduled for March 6 for the proposed wind farm has been postponed because the applicant, Liberty Power, has withdrawn and resubmitted its application, according to Stephanie Stolpe, the township secretary.
The Packer Twp. Supervisors said recently tonight’s session will be held to answer the public’s questions on a proposal from Liberty Power to build a 7,000-acre wind farm, which will include 25 wind turbines that will generate between 80 and 90 megawatts of electricity, about enough to power 64,000 households.
