New developments in the battle over a proposed wind farm in Burleigh and Emmons Counties

PNE is now challenging the results of a meeting held last week in a letter filed this week to the Burleigh County Planning and Zoning Commission Chairman David Andahl.

This comes after the Planning and Zoning Commission denied PNE Wind group’s application for a permit to build a wind farm in Morton Township, after a nearly 4 hour meeting, December 5th.

The seven page letter is requesting a continuation of the meeting because the company never had the opportunity to respond to testimony by the hundreds of individuals who opposed the project that night.

PNE says many statements made that night were inaccurate, false, and misleading and could have impacted how members of the commission voted.

And, no chance for a rebuttal was offered.

PNE also adds the motion to deny the permit was based on inaccurate information about how the project would impact the Bismarck regional airport.

PNE has asked the commission for an answer by noon tomorrow, to give them enough time to properly file an appeal.

The wind farm, if approved, will go up in Southern Burleigh County and Northern Emmons County.
