100 percent clean power is impossible

Is this Clean Power Alliance just vaporware?
First of all, it’s November and they don’t even have a functioning website yet. Secondly, they are proposing to supply “clean” power where the customer can choose 36 percent, 50 percent or 100 percent.
How? The sun doesn’t shine at night. Wind power is unreliably available in the early morning and early evening only. Battery storage provides only a minuscule fraction of the state’s daily needs.
Everybody following this issue should get familiar with the Cal Independent System Operator website (caiso.com/TodaysOutlook/Pages/default.aspx). They track statewide daily demand and supply of electricity. Click on the tabs on the website.
Look at the pattern this time of year. Peak power demand is about 6 p.m. Peak solar output is around noon. Solar power supply is completely gone by 5 p.m. From 5 p.m. to about 6:30 a.m. the next morning, there’s no solar power.
Wind may or may not be available. So, for almost 60 percent of the day, there’s no solar and no assurance of any wind power either.
Can anyone explain how Clean Power Alliance is going to supply 50 percent clean power on a day in, day out, 12-months-a-year basis? One hundred percent is impossible.
