OCEAN CITY, Md – The Skipjack Wind Farm will stop at nothing to try and get Ocean City on their side and they made that clear today with a one-of-a-kind event. 47 ABC was there as families and kids of all ages enjoyed a LEGO build where they used thousands of LEGO pieces to build their own windmills. Officials with the Skipjack Wind Farm which will be built along the Maryland-Delaware Coastline – say that the event was designed to educate the community about their designs and location. They also say that this educational experience will help the area’s residents learn more about wind energy.

“It’s important for the kids to understand energy to the point of their not just flipping the light in the room and the light comes on, they understand where it comes from, how it works ,and in the scale of some of the stuff that they do. I hope they take home kind of what goes into a wind turbine and a little bit about how this clean energy works and what’s coming to Maryland,” said project construction director for Skipjack Wind Farm Prem Pereira.

Pereira says that the company is looking to put more of these kinds of events together over the next couple of months.
