The Jasper County Plan Commission will be addressing a rewrite of the ordinance on industrial wind turbine operations on Monday, August 27 at 7 p.m. at the Jasper County Fairgrounds Community Building at 7:00 p.m.
According to Jasper County County Councilman and Jasper County Plan Commission President Gerrit H. DeVries, “Much has changed since the last Ordinance regarding Wind Operations was written, and with heights increasing, sound increasing, shadow flicker increasing, it’s time to address these changes in a newly-written ordinance, as the present version is sorely outdated.
“Feel free to speak on this issue as we want to hear from you. Our concern is one of guarding the safety and health of the public as influenced by industrial wind operations.”
DeVries said a sizable attendance is expected and sound will be provided.
