ABILENE, TX – Early Tuesday morning, a three vehicle wreck involving a tractor trailer hauling a section of a wind turbine tower have forced law enforcement to shut down the Hwy 83/84 ramp to eastbound I-20.
According to KTXS, police told them the back wheels of the trailer went off the road while heading east on I-20. The driver over corrected and caused the wind turbine to roll off the trailer.
A Chevy Equinox was traveling on the ramp to eastbound I-20 when they slowed down because of the wreck and was rear ended by a Ford Mustang.
The driver of the Equinox was transported to the hospital. Police said that the driver had purchased the SUV less than 24 hours ago, replacing a vehicle in another wreck.
The driver of the mustang was given a citation for failure to control speed.
