Wind developer lawyers officially acknowledge ending efforts for Hopkinton wind farm

HOPKINTON – Lawyers for Avangrid officially acknowledged that they have ceased all development efforts on the North Wind Ridge Farm.
The letter from Young/Sommer LLC, dated June 15, 2018, states:
“I am writing on behalf of Atlantic Wind LLC (“Atlantic Wind”) regarding the proposed North Ridge Wind Farm located in the Town. As a result of the Town’s “revote” of the Local Law No. 2 on April 26, 2018, Atlantic Wind will cease all development efforts on the North Ridge Wind Farm.
“Atlantic Wind would like to thank its many supporters and we encourage all to keep seeking positive economic development opportunities that would help fund your schools, improve town services and infrastructure, increase property values, and provide a better future for the next generation.”
The letter is signed by Robert A. Panasci, lawyer for Avangrid (Atlantic Wind).
The project would have seen 27 wind turbines build and according to company officials would have generated millions of dollars for the region.
