Invenergy, developer of the first Ida Grove wind energy project completed at the end of 2017, held a public meeting May 29 at Skate Palace in Ida Grove related to the proposed phase two of the project.

The second phase calls for the erection of 81 wind turbines in Logan, Silver Creek, Corwin, Blaine, Battle and Maple townships that will generate 200 MW of wind power. Some of the phase two turbines will be located in townships that currently have wind turbines. Phase one has approximately 130 turbines that generate 300 MW of electricity.

Kevin Parzyck, Invenergy vice president of development, noted, while all 81 turbines will be in the townships noted, not all of the turbines have been assigned an exact location. “We have a good idea of where all the turbines will be located, but we haven’t buttoned up all of the turbines. Once we do that, we will begin the process of seeking a building permit from the county.”
