Protect area from ruthless corporations

Opinion: Protect area from ruthless corporations, says Parishville man | North Country Now | April 12, 2018 | www.northcountrynow.com

I moved here seven years ago and fell in love with the beauty of the Adirondacks. If I knew then that industrial wind turbines were planned, I would not have settled here. I foresee others not settling here and moving away if our town and county representatives fail to make laws that protect residents.

Businesses could leave too. Land values will also drop. This will mean a loss of tax dollars for the town, school and county. There is a very high chance that the town, school district and county won’t see the financial benefits that the wind company promises. Many town residents won’t live long enough to see thirty years of payments. Also the wind company likely won’t see it through, backing out when it’s not profitable.

Do not be blindsided by the wind turbine corporation. The economic structures of the world, such as the industrial wind corporation, compete with each other for “more.” Their only blind aim is profit. They pursue that aim with absolute ruthlessness.

People, animals, nature, even their own employees are no more than digits on a balance sheet—lifeless objects to be used, and then discarded.

As long as you don’t recognize this, and as long as you remain unconscious to the truth, you will believe in what the wind turbine corporation says. Wake up people! See the bribes and hear the truth.

Research, find out the facts, before it’s too late. It is our duty to protect our citizens, animals, nature, and the beauty of our county and the Adirondack foothills from these ruthless corporations.
