MAPLE GROVE TWP. – At least 200 people attended the Maple Grove Township Board meeting Monday to speak out on the Shiawassee Wind Project, a proposed wind turbine development hoping to build towers within the township.
Leaseholders and officials with Tradewind Energy – the Kansas-based firm developing the project – spoke at the meeting, but most of those in attendance were strongly against the idea of putting up wind turbines in the township, because of issues such as height, noise, shadows and more.
