Inishowen – Yesterday evening at 6 PM lighting struck one of the ‘Ugly Sisters’ on Crockbrack Hill, Meanletterbale, Inishowen. One of the 46 meter long turbine blades was blasted to pieces when lightning struck the nacelle of the wind turbine. The nacelle of turbine T1 is badly damaged. Dents and scorch marks are clearly to be seen where the lightning hit the nacelle of the 116 meter high wind turbine.
