Proposed wind turbine project endangers all that makes our regional beautiful

So it looks like the Shasta-Cascade Wonderland is going to take another giant step in the direction of industrialization just like the rest of California. At this rate Shasta County will look just like Altamont, Tehachapi or the Columbia River gorge in no time. Have any of the county supervisors actually visited these mega-wind farms?

I’m trying to imagine a project that would dwarf the existing Hatchett Ridge turbines. One hundred new turbines close to 200 feet taller than those already on the edge of Burney and are 591 feet tall. That’s nearly the length of two football fields.

Take a look at the environmental impact report for the Hatchett Ridge project and you will see how many untruths were presented to the people of eastern Shasta County, in particular, the notion that the visual impact would be minimal. Have any of the county supervisors been to Burney to see for themselves how visible these 418-foot-tall turbines are? You can see the Hatchett Ridge turbines from Route 5 in Redding. Maybe you will be able to see the new turbines from Anderson or Cottonwood.

After these new massive turbines are built how long will it be before there is yet another wind turbine project to follow?
