Don’t believe the lies

Watertown Public Opinion | www.thepublicopinion.com

On October 14, 2017, Brad Johnson wrote a column in the Watertown Public Opinion titled “Go Slow OK’ing Wind Farms.” Brad wrote a great letter about the wind energy scam, crony capitalism, inefficiency, health problems and more.

I read this online, so below the column in the comment section was this statement from Greg Alvarez from the American Wind Energy Association: “The average wind turbine generates electricity 90 percent of the time.”

On October 23, in the Omaha World Herald in a lead story on wind projects in Nebraska, the AWEA was quoted “In fact, Nebraska wind farms in 2016 boasted an average capacity factor of 45 percent, higher than any other state according to the AWEA. The average capacity factor for the U.S. wind fleet in 2016 was 35 percent.”

After studying this scam for nearly 8 years now, this big lie about the 90 percent was no surprise. The surprise is how many people fall for their lies. In several South Dakota counties right now, ordinary rural homeowners are spending tens of thousands of dollars of their own money, they are spending their time and fortune to protect their property rights, their safety and health and their quality of life. These people are trying to save our state from the biggest taxpayer scam ever conceived. And most of our state and local representatives are oblivious to what is going on around them.

I hear our governor and our candidates for governor talking a lot about “QUALITY OF LIFE.” Really?
