Wind companies seek profits

Letter - Wind companies seek profits | Watertown Public Opinion | www.thepublicopinion.com

Proponents of industrial wind energy will tell you whatever they need to in order to fill their pocketbooks. Remember the perceptions that they tell you are coming from for-profit developers and lobby groups whose only concern is to further their agenda and profits at the cost of the taxpayer and ratepayer, which is you!

I tell you this as a resident of Lincoln County, S.D., and we have been dealing with big wind developers and their associates for more than three years. I assure you that they have absolutely no interest in what is best for you and your county but what is best for their profits. They will change their story again and again, make promises that they can’t and have no intention of keeping, tell you partial truths, and give you their false perceptions that are not based on reality in the least. This is not limited to Lincoln County as I have heard it from many across the Midwest.

The audible and inaudible noise that comes from industrial wind turbines are unique and will have a negative effect on the health and sleep of a significant portion of the population that has to live among them. This is shown in independent studies by professionals and experts in the fields of medicine and audiology. To ignore this reality would be unprofessional and foolish.

On September 13 there will be a PUC public hearing about a proposed industrial wind farm in Clark County. I encourage you to go, listen, and take part in this public hearing as it is the only opportunity you will have to voice your opinion and tell the PUC what is right for your county. Base your opinion on reality and not someone else’s perception whose only interest is in their own financial gains.
