SCURRY COUNTY, Texas – A Colorado City man was electrocuted Thursday at a wind farm in Scurry County.

It happened at an Invenergy wind farm in Camp Springs, which is east of Snyder, the company confirmed to KTXS on Monday.

The Snyder Daily News reports that the victim was identified as 29-year-old Cody Lee Hubbard. Hubbard was working at the top of a wind turbine when he was fatally shocked.

It took crews from Scurry County EMS, Snyder Fire Department, and the Scurry County Sheriff’s Office to retrieve Hubbard from the turbine. He was pronounced dead at Cogdell Memorial Hospital, the Daily News reported.

A spokesperson with Invenergy told KTXS they are saddened by the death, but they “are working with authorities to determine the cause of the incident and are conducting a thorough review.”

An obituary for Hubbard said he had worked with Invenergy for 10 years.

Hubbard was buried Monday morning at Dorn Cemetery in Colorado City.
