Wind power isn’t as clean as you think

Credit:  The Martha's Vineyard Times | Mar 15, 2017 | www.mvtimes.com ~~

What the companies building wind-power projects south of Martha’s Vineyard don’t tell the public about is the destruction of fish habitat. These wind farms are huge in area, at least five times the size of the Vineyard. That doesn’t even include the cables that carry the power to shore.

We don’t even know how many cables there will be, or where they are going! These cables are jetted six feet into the ocean bottom. The destruction to the bottom and the silt it will create will kill sea life for generations to come. The ocean habitat there cannot be reproduced by man. It will take Mother Nature a long time to recreate this fragile habitat. We have to protect our natural resources. The ocean is a lot smaller than the atmosphere. Let’s not destroy that too!
