Highland sour on Limekilns; 72MW wind farm headed for public inquiry

Highland Council has objected to Infinergy plans for the 72MW Limekilns wind farm in the far north of Scotland.

Members attending the north planning applications committee raised concerns over impacts on visuals, landscapes and residential amenity in Caithness.

Infinergy now faces a public local inquiry into Limekilns. Scottish ministers will make a final decision on the Section 36 application.

Officials had recommended no objection be lodged pending removal of three of the 24 planned turbines at a mix of 139-metre and 126-metre tip heights.
