ISABELLA COUNTY, MI – A new wind park is planned for Gratiot and Isabella counties.
The Michigan Public Service Commission in December approved a contract between DTE Electric Co. and Pine River Wind Engineering LLC to build the Pine River Wind Park, according to a Michigan Public Service Commission news release.
Pine River Wind Park is to be located in Gratiot County’s Pine River Township and Isabella County’s Coe Township.
Pine River is to design, engineer, construct, install, start up and test the new wind park, which will consist of 65 wind turbines capable of generating 161.3 megawatts of electricity, the release states.
It is expected to begin operation on or before Dec. 31, 2018. After construction is completed, Pine River will transfer ownership to DTE Energy.
