MIDLAND CITY / BEASON – A truck towing a portion of a wind tower reportedly clipped a power pole along Rt. 10 between Midland City and Beason Tuesday morning causing a loss of electricity to a number of area villages. The Journal has not confirmed the exact nature of the accident, but Ameren Illinois crews were working Tuesday afternoon at the site of the accident as Illinois State Police troopers directed traffic.
The Ameren Web site shows the outage affecting areas as far east as Weldon. Beason, Midland City and Kenney all reported residents without power.
