Lincoln County residents allowed a voice

I read with some amusement Brian Minish’s Dec. 30 letter to the editor, as there are so many facts missing.
The fact is that all Lincoln County landowners pay taxes to their property line. Forcing them to pay taxes on property that is crossed by shadow flicker, noise and property devaluation, along with stripping them of their building eligibilities is unethical and immoral. It is unethical to measure noise, flicker and create trespass zoning at the wall of their homes, when they pay taxes, as well. The wind company would have you believe its only aesthetics. It is a morass of violations against non-participating property owners
The ordinances in a county can be changed due to population and a host of other issues. Lincoln County has experienced significant growth. Two hundred wind turbines do not enhance the county as desirable.
And, contrary to belief, the cost of electricity goes up to subsidize this monstrosity.
A Lincoln County commissioner is recused from meetings because he signed his land over to Dakota Power Community Wind and it is a complete conflict of interest. He is supposed to be representing District 2, which is the largest land mass in Lincoln County, however the citizens are essentially being taxed with no representation whatsoever.
It is the lawful right of all citizens to peacefully enjoy their property, contrary to a select group who looks to strip their neighbors of that right, at the expense of their properties.
If government officials won’t choose to live and retire in the midst of an industrial power plant, then they have no right to force their citizens to either; nor, sell their children’s inheritance down the road.
