No one injured Monday afternoon in an accident with a wind turbine, used for power generation, in Southeast Lynn County.

A wind turbine located in a field a quarter-mile south of County Road BB and FM 213 in Lynn County caught fire. The location of the field was also described as about one-mile southwest of Draw, Texas.

Two of the over 30-foot long blades detached from the tower of the turbine and fell to the ground.

As of 1:30pm, Monday afternoon, one of the blades which fell to the ground, along with part of the tower were still on fire. A center pivot was destroyed as well in the accident. The third blade on the wind turbine was still attached to the tower as of early Monday afternoon.

The cause of the fire was not immediately known.
