This wind turbine in Bloomfield Township is one of two turbines that recently broke in the Deerfield Wind Energy Project. According to Jeff Smith, Huron County Building and Zoning director, a third turbine had a damaged blade in that park. The turbines are owned by Algonquin Power, of Ontario, Canada, and they are being built and tested by Vestas. Despite numerous attempts on Monday, the Tribune could not get any information from Algonquin Power. A spokesperson indicated the company will respond to these incidents this week.
