Wind energy ordinance change sought

During public comment at Monday’s Penn Forest Township board of supervisors meeting, resident Marcus Laurence presented the board with a 13-page revision to the current wind energy provision of the zoning ordinance.

“In August I asked the board to consider a change to the ordinance for wind energy,” Laurence said.

“We have prepared a list of changes for any future applications and we would like to be placed on the next planning board agenda.”

Laurence said the changes are substantial. Laurence also asked the board for a moratorium on any new applications, giving the planning commission adequate time to review the submission. The board agreed to review the document, but did not vote on the moratorium.

Township solicitor Thomas Nanovic will review the fee schedule to determine the filing fee applicable to a request for an amendment to an ordinance.
