SHIAWASSEE COUNTY – A renewable energy company based in Virginia is in the process of developing a large wind turbine operation in northwest Shiawassee County.
Apex Clean Energy hopes to install about 60 turbines across 13,000 rural acres in Middlebury, Owosso, Fairfield and Rush townships, investing roughly $200 million in what they’re calling the Maple Rapids Wind project.
