Wind farm would further harm nature

A proposed wind farm won’t harm wildlife? Baloney. Ask the Audubon Society and the Cornell Lab of Ornithology people about mangled and dead birds.
First of all, today’s construction methods kill, grind up and bury every living thing that can’t escape, like baby birds in their nests.
Then there’s the permanent blight of ugly turbines ruining the landscape.
Third is the ongoing destruction of vegetation that butchers living things. What might survive the slaughter machines is sprayed with deadly herbicides.
Aren’t current power line and gas and oil pipeline people ruining enough habitat?
One recent day I went for a walk on a trail and swore I’d not go on it again after a “development” destroyed that wetland. I wanted to see if any different wildflowers were blooming there.
I found a 20-foot-wide butchered area, with all the small trees and plants cut and possibly sprayed dead, including a rare butternut tree. There’s ugly brown lifelessness for miles. Power lines have caused the worst destruction ever for that area.
A lone Gulf fritillary butterfly looked so out of place landing on dead passionflower vines.
There should have been nesting white-eyed vireos and indigo buntings in the brush, along with wildflowers and towhees. It looked like the carnage was done a few weeks earlier.
I hear fewer yellow-throated warblers, but who cares? Rip up and keep ruining more land.
I cringe every time a certain cellphone company commercial airs, proclaiming, “We put towers where the other guys don’t – way out here.”
Yeah, the landscape isn’t blighted enough.
