The Planning Inspectorate has dismissed Falck Renewables’ appeal against West Norfolk Council’s refusal of its nine-turbine Ongarhill wind farm.
The proposed 27MW project, refused against the planning officer’s recommendation in February 2015, was set to feature turbines with 127-metre tips.
PINS said the site close to the Norfolk Coast AONB would cause a significant degree of harm to landscape character and visual amenity.
Inspector Paul Jackson said: “The advantages in terms of a significant contribution to the nation’s renewable energy needs are clearly outweighed in this location by the harm that would occur.”
