Group fighting wind farm to air ‘Big Wind’ this week

Save Ontario Shores, Inc. (SOS) will host two informational meetings and viewings of the documentary “Big Wind” this month.

The first meeting is in Barker, at 7 p.m. Wednesday at the former Assembly of God church on Haight Road.

The second meeting will be at 7 p.m. July 18 at White Birch Golf Course, North Lyndonville Road, Lyndonville.

“Big Wind” examines industrial wind farm development and its effects on rural communities and national/global environmental goals, according to SOS member Stacey Pellicano.

At the meetings, SOS members will update attendees on its outreach efforts and field questions.

SOS, a citizens coalition, was formed in the wake of Apex Clean Energy LLC’s bid to construct an industrial wind farm in the towns of Somerset and Yates.
