Plan to extend wind farm with 100m tall turbines

Burnley Express | 22 June 2016 | www.burnleyexpress.net

An application to extend Hameldon Hill Wind Farm has been submitted to Burnley Council.

If successful the application would see the wind farm increased by three more 100 metre tall turbines – twice the height of the original three turbines.

The new turbines would be sited on land to the south east of the current six units close to New Barn Farm.

The operational life of the development will be 25 years.

In addition, 12 months would be required for construction and, following the 25-year operational period, 12 months would be required for decommissioning.

The application has been submitted by FAB Energy Solutions from Bolton.

The application can be viewed on Burnley Council’s website.
