I read with interest Margaret Jarek’s Sunday column “Yearning for the sound of Silence” [May 29]. Her comments: “Noise pummels the body and agitates our brain waves – to eliminate silence from our life experience can and does have a great many adverse effects.”
This lady knows what she is talking about. Many of us finding ourselves in the middle of wind factories face this daily. I miss not being able to sit on the deck in the evening as the noise from the turbines is intolerable. Having to sleep with windows closed and constant noise must eventually have health consequences. Until rules are in place to protect homeowners, wind energy has no support from this very conservative user of natural resources.
