Public displays on windfarm proposals

Deeside Piper | 04 June 2016 | www.deesidepiper.co.uk

A company is to hold public consultations next week on proposals for a windfarm in Aberdeenshire.

Coriolis Energy is looking at developing the project on the Glendye Estate, near Strachan.

It will organise exhibitions in Strachan Village Hall on Monday and Fettercairn Church Hall on Wednesday.

Site plans will be on display along with details of environmental assessments which will be undertaken, and the public can fill in informations cards which

Coriolis will use to help shape and inform both consultation and the proposals.

James Baird, windfarm development manager, said: “Although the proposals are at an early stage, we believe that proactive and early community consultation is an integral element of the planning process.

“We therefore wish to ensure that the community are provided every opportunity to feedback their views directly to our project team at all stages of the development process.”

An initial scoping design on display at the exhibitions is based on up to 37 turbines, each with a tip height of up to 150m.

Both exhibitions will be from 3-8pm.
