Grey Highlands council wants wind turbine complaints investigated

By Kirk Scott on March 19, 2016 | blackburnnews.com

Grey Highlands council wants the Grey Bruce Health Unit to investigate wind turbine complaints.

The municipality on its own plans to conduct a base line study of wind turbine effects. But deputy mayor Stewart Halliday says council wants the Health Unit to interview those who say they’re affected and keeps records of their situations.

“Currently the people being impacted by wind turbine vibrations, no one’s listening to them, there’s no place they can register. So what they would like to be in debriefed by Grey Bruce Health Services, somebody dedicated to debrief and write their story so that there would be a file set up. Right now nobody’s setting up any files,” says Halliday.

Grey Highlands has yet to formally ask the Health Unit for an investigation.

Medical Officer of Health Doctor Hazel Lynn says they’ve already determined wind turbines are affecting people.

She wants something specific from the Grey Highlands request before proceeding with an investigation.
