Planners have refused permission for three wind turbines which had been proposed for the Scarcewater Tip, Grampound Road, Truro.
Each turbine would have been 92.5 metres tall. Councillors said that although the site was an industrial area, the elevated nature of the site meant the wind farm would have dominated the landscape.
Officials said that because local people had strong objections to the proposal, they would recommend refusal of permission. Councillors voted unanimously to agree and rejected the application.
