Pending plans to build 13 new wind turbines in Carno have made a woman’s home worthless, according to her son. The proposed turbines are near the property of 87-year-old Barbara Riden who lives with her son Mark. He believes after spending . . . Complete story »

SEYMOUR, Wis. – A long-planned wind energy project should finally become a reality next year. As many as 49 wind turbines will be installed in Seymour Township in 2017. This letter is intended to clear the air about the intentions of the Concerned Citizens of Stark County Group and the ongoing fight to prevent NextEra Energy Resources from placing wind turbines within our county. There seems to be an assumption that this group is against all wind energy, but that is not the case. Environmentally friendly energy should always be strived for; however, a $50 billion company should not need government subsidies to be productive. Now, you might ask . . . Complete story »

Somerset officials praised for updating town’s wind turbine law

I would like to thank the Somerset Town Board for the update in the town law with regard to wind turbines; a lot has changed in the past 10 years with regard to this industry. Certainly the size and technology has changed; in addition, as more of these have been built near people, negative effects have been reported world-wide. In fact, many communities are banning them from being built. Unfortunately Article 10 has stripped that right from us in NYS . . . Complete story »
