Both the Stark County Planning and Zoning Board and the County Commission approved a conditional use permit for a wind farm to be erected in southern Stark County on Tuesday morning during their respective regular and special meetings at the Stark County Courthouse.
The planning and zoning board made a recommendation to approve the Brady Wind Energy Center by NextEra Energy Resources with a 5-3 vote, which was then immediately taken up by the commissioners and approved with a 3-2 vote.
The 87-turbine wind farm has been a major source of divide in the county since it was first proposed earlier this year.
