The Ohio Supreme Court heard arguments this morning from opponents of a controversial Champaign County wind farm and the project’s developers over whether it should be allowed to proceed.
The wind farm’s second phase includes more than 50 turbines that would be spread across several townships in Champaign County. The Ohio Supreme Court narrowly allowed the first phase of the project in 2012.
Much of the debate Wednesday morning focused on whether the space the turbines must be set back from neighboring properties is adequate and whether the Ohio Power Siting Board followed proper procedures when allowing the second phase to move forward.
