Wind turbine pitch tactics worry Essex

By Ricardo Veneza on November 15, 2015 | Blackburn News | blackburnnews.com

The Town of Essex is looking to its MPP over concerns with the tactics used by wind turbine companies to get residents on board with proposed projects.

The NDP’s Taras Natyshak thinks companies could be regulated in the same way door-to-door sales are.

“We have rules that limit the door-to-door sale and we should take a serious look at some rules that limit where green energy conglomerates add their pressure to residents and what type of pressure that is,” says Natyshak.

Natyshak recently met with councillors over the issue and says he’ll make sure the minister gets the message.

“When I talk to the minister I will let him know that Essex is not a willing host for this specific project,” says Natyshak. “It doesn’t mean that Essex is not supportive of other green energy projects going forward.

The town has declared itself an unwilling host to turbines as GDF Suez looks to move forward with its Blue Sky Wind Project in the town.
