A 7-year battle over a proposed wind farm near Selby has come to an end.
Selby District Council refused planning permission for the site at Scalm Park in January 2013. An appeal by energy company Prowind had launched an appeal was due to be heard later this month.
“We have just received notification that Prowind have withdrawn their appeal.
Our campaign via the website, media coverage , leaflets and twitter was all designed to ensure that Prowind were never in any doubt about the strength of the case we had and the depth of feeling against them.
The next step was to be delivery of 2500 colour leaflets this weekend – they have been printed and were ready to go. We had our team including expert witnesses all ready for the hearings.
I would like to thank everybody who has supported this campaign – it has been running for 7 years over which many thousands of hours have been given to the cause by a very large number of people.”
