Council approves new windfarm for Moycullen

Galway Bay fm newsroom – Another windfarm is to be built in Moycullen.
Knockalough Wind Farm Limited has been granted ten-year planning permission for 11 wind turbines at Knockalough, Finisklin and Laughil.
County planners have imposed 27 conditions on the windfarm in Moycullen.
The planning permission will be valid for 10 years to complete construction of the windfarm, however the permission period for the windfarm will be 25 years from commissioning of the turbines.
Also the grid connection of the windfarm to the Eirgrid substation must be carried out in accordance with the Environmental Impact Statement.
The developer shall arrange for a suitably qualified engineer to be responsible for mitigation measures to prevention pollution.
Also 88 thousand euro must be paid to the County Council as part of the Development Contributions Scheme.
