Turbines destroy area

The Chronicle Herald | July 2, 2015 | thechronicleherald.ca

I read with interest the reasons for not erecting a memorial monument at Green Cove, Cape Breton. The main reason is the impact it will have on viewplanes and destruction of natural beauty.

These are reasons similar to why we who live on the North and South Mountains in the beautiful Annapolis Valley and in our beautiful coastal region do not want large-scale wind turbines in our backyard, destroying the natural aura and beauty that surrounds us.

As mentioned over and over again, we are not against wind energy but are sensitive to where projects would be located. Our rural home environments should not be subjected to large-scale industrial wind turbines for the benefit of generating electricity for the urban populace or for the benefit of developers who are selling wind energy outside our province.

Our rural way of life is being threatened.
