Wind farm minutes disputed

Hillsboro Star-Journal | March 25, 2015 | starj.com

Doyle Creek wind farm opponents Bob Gayle and Tom Britain objected Monday to minutes of a previous county commission meeting.

They objected to how the commission vote on a resolution to zoning regulations was reported in the minutes.

“If you’re making a decision that’s more quasi-judicial in nature, you should include more information about what it takes to reach that decision,” Gayle said. “It shouldn’t be just a roll call of who was there.”

Commissioners and Clerk Tina Spencer told Gayle and Britain the minutes typically are less explicit than minutes kept for planning and zoning meetings.

Spencer said she could provide more detail if necessary, but details of discussion weren’t required.

“That’s more the newspaper’s job,” Chairman Dan Holub said.
