If plans to build a wind farm off the coast of Massachusetts have failed (some of the windiest waters of our country), why would turbine developers hunt for New Hampshire land? The answer is simple: They’re looking for locations that already have high-voltage power lines, access to a large highway systems for easy transportation and small towns to conquer.
The wind industry is coming on strong in New Hampshire, and it comes bearing gifts. Developers are throwing lots of money around – both publicly and privately. Developers are happy with their results so far. Why? Because they haven’t had to outline their master plan for our community. They’re working hard at deceiving us.
Bringing the wind industry from Massachusetts to New Hampshire – or from theory to reality – will be a huge step forward for Massachusetts. Massachusetts will outsource New Hampshire lands at our expense – literally. Keep in mind New Hampshire has been producing way too much electricity for decades and selling it to southern states at a nice profit. Why would we give up that business model? And what state program will suffer when we do? Everybody is affected in one way or another.
